Band it
Kickstart Freedom comprising of four experienced musicians are all set to rock the stage for a taut and entertaining performance tonight in the city. The band’s influences include a whole lot of bands covering almost every genre,right from the Beatles to Audioslave. Their collective influences include Funk,Pop,Jazz,Heavy Metal,Grunge,Alternative and almost anything comprising music.The bands spontaneous composition re-lives the versatile performance for the audiences of Hard Rock Cafe,8.30 onwards.

Two nights of music
No aspect of art can bring a community together the way music can. Music appeals to the senses alike and captivates the mind,and thus the society. The Srujan Foundation,has organised the third Jyotsna Bhole Swarostav in the city on June 12 and 13 . The two-day programme will be inaugurated by entrepreneur Jayashree Firodia at 9 pm at Balagandharva auditorium. The first day of the programme will see performances by Shaila Datar,Bharat Balvali,Manjusha Patil,Pt. Upendra Bhat accompanied by Rajeev Paranjape with Prashant Pandav on the tabla. On the second day there will be a jugalbandi (duet) between the shehnai and flute by Tukaram Daithankar and group,followed by performance by Shubha Mudgal accompanied by Sudhir Nayak on the harmonium and Aneesh Pradhan on the tabla. Raghunandan Panshikar will also perform classical songs with Prashant Pandav on tabla. From this year,the organisation has announced a scholarship of Rs. 10,000 for students of music in memory of Jyotsna Bhole. This year,Dnyaneshwar Phate and Kalyani Shete from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya will be awarded this scholarship at the inaugural function.
