Get Bengal’s creative intricacies at your doorstep with an exhibition on costume jewellery,mekhla chaddar,designer sarees in Tassar,Cotton,Silk and Matka bedspreads and many more. Kolkata designers Sharmishta Mukherjee,Sushrita Sinha and Dipa Ghosh are exhibiting their designs at Reflection Art Gallery,next to Café Coffee Day on F C Road till July 26. Travelling to different cities the exhibition boats of some fine traditional designs from their 18 years of designing experience.

The right chord
The Poona Music Society will conduct the regional rounds for western region of second national guitar competition,which organised by Embassy of Spain in India in Bangalore on September 25 and 26. The western region includes Mumbai and Pune. The regional rounds will be conducted on August 17. The competition is open to Indian nationals between the ages of 14 and 28 years in junior and senior categories. The first prize for the junior participants is a hand made Spanish guitar and the first prize for the senior participants is a two-week visit to Spain to participate in a guitar festival. Last date for receipt of entries is August 10.

Bollywood photographer,Sameer Belvalkar will conduct a two-day photography certification workshop – Aperture overtures – on July 25 to help hobby photographers graduate to serious amateurs. Sameer has been acclaimed for his publicity photography done for Jodhaa Akbar and is currently shooting for another magnum opus My Name is Khan,a Karan Johar film with SRK. The workshop will also include effective career tips on photography,live photo shoots and current industry trends along with the course material.
