The fans of Marathi films had a wonderful experience with three superstars - Sachin Pilgaonkar,Ashok Saraf and Mahesh Kothare - who gathered together on Sunday for the music launch of their upcoming film Ideachi Kalpana at Crossword,Senapati Bapat Road.

The fans of Marathi films had a wonderful experience with three superstars – Sachin Pilgaonkar,Ashok Saraf and Mahesh Kothare – who gathered together on Sunday for the music launch of their upcoming film Ideachi Kalpana at Crossword,Senapati Bapat Road. The trio will be seen together in a film for the first time. The multi-talented Pilgaonkar has donned many roles for this film – producer,director,actor and he has also composed two songs along with Avdooth Gupte. Apart from this,he has also lent his voice for three songs in the film.The other actors starring in this film are Nirmti Sawant,Bhargavi Chirmule (popularly known as Bahiravi) and Bhagyashree Rane.

Unwind at work
Who said business can’t be mixed with pleasure? Capgemini Pune celebrated ‘Jashn 2010’ with much pomp and grandeur. The annual day celebrations kicked off with a dance performance by the Prince Dance Troupe. Held at Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex at Balewadi,nearly 5000 employees were kept swaying to the beat by singer Shruti Pathak. Dynamic duo,Vishal and Shekhar also performed at the do.

A poetic evening
The evening of December 5 will be engraved in minds of all the members of the Patil family,as Aarti Patil,principal of Vidhyanchal school,Aundh,launched her mother Sushila Patil’s book Swapnapoorti at Hotel Greenpark. The book has 50 poems written by Patil over a period of 10 years. The occasion was graced by Pandit Arving Kumar Azad,who enthralled everyone with the beats of his tabla. Seventy-two-year-old Sushila Patil,in spite of not being subjected to any formal education,is very well-read. In her poetry,she has expressed her thoughts and opinions on simple issues of life. She has touched upon topics like the Kargil war and has even dedicated one poem to her daughter. She has also written about her twin sons and described her experience of raising them. The book reflects her simplicity and life experiences.

Noble deed
The ‘World Week for the Disabled’ concluded on December 5 and city-based NGO Nishkaam celebrated it graciously. During the course of this week,volunteers from Nishkaam visited several organisations dealing with the mentally and physically challenged. Wheel chairs and tricycles were donated to needy people during the visits. The week-long activities concluded with a rally of differently-abled children from Apang Kalyankari Shikshan Sanstha,Wanowrie. The rally – Befriend the Disabled – was aimed at establishing a link between normal and differently-abled children. “The idea of getting them out on the streets was to make citizens aware of the difficulties they face. It is about time we wake up to their needs and extend a helping hand in whatever manner we can,” says Ravi Kochar,president of Nishkaam.
