Shopkeeper assaulted,robbed in Narayan Peth

Three unidentified persons on Sunday thrashed the owner of an art shop in Dhruta Apartment,Narayan Peth,and robbed him of his gold ornaments.

Three unidentified persons on Sunday thrashed the owner of an art shop in Dhruta Apartment,Narayan Peth,and robbed him of his gold ornaments,mobile phone and lap top before fleeing in his car.

Police said the trio barged in the shop around 6.30 pm,thrashed Rahul Dattatraya Mane (32) of Adinath Nagar in Bhosari,gagged his mouth with a stick tape,tied him up with a rope and robbed him. Police said Mane told them the robbers also asked him to take proper care of his wife or else they would cut him into pieces. Police thus suspect that the incident was a fallout of dispute between Mane and his wife. Police found Mane’s stolen car in the river bed near Omkareshwar Temple.

Mane lodged the complaint at Vishrambag police station. After being beaten up,Mane somehow escaped and called the police control room on 100 number. Soon,the Vishrambag police team reached the spot. He also gave the description of the robbers to the police. Police teams are seraching for the trio.

“Mane has told us about his dispute with wife and brother. Investigation is on,” said police sub-inspector S R Jagtap,the investigation officer.
