Shooting: Vivek Singh shines

The selection trials for the World Cup were held at the Shiv Chhatrapati Sports City Balewadi on Wednesday. In the Air Pistol events,Vivek Singh and Gurpal Singh 583 each and Omprakash,the free piston winner,shot a total of 579.

They remained in the same order in the final standings. In the Sports Pistol category for the women,Sonia Rai finished first with 578 + 201.2,Anisa Sayyed finished second with 572 + 206.1 and Rahi Sarnobat finished third with 571 + 203.2.

Results: 50m rifle three position women: Meena Kumari (669),Tejaswini Sawant (668.2),Rajkumari (666.1)

25m pistol women: Sonia Rai Nausheen (779.2),Anisa Sayyed (778.1),Rahi Sarnobat (774.2).

10m air pistol men: Vivek Singh (682.3),Gurpal Singh (681.6),Om Prakash (681.2).
