Shirdi gets ‘largest’ solar cooking system

Addressing a press conference,Badal Shah,managing director,Gadhia Solar said that it costs more than Rs three crores to install the solar system.

“Other than this project,we have plans for setting up a 100 MW solar concentrated thermal power plant in Kutch,Gujarat. Another project is the 100-tonne solar concentrated air-conditioning project,which is in the final stage of commissioning for a cancer hospital in Gujarat. We are also in discussion with Maharashtra government to set up a 1 to 1.5 MW steam-based solar thermal power system in Nagpur- Lathur area for electrification of rural areas,” he said.

Gadhia Solar has installed solar parabolic concentrated systems in Ladakh for Indian Army. “The system would work efficiently even in –40 degree temperature with high altitudes and clear sky. At IBM office in Bangalore,we will soon be installing a solar air-conditioning system,” he said.

The company that has 20 years of experience in the field is also planning to strengthen its presence in foreign countries like Middle East,Africa,Europe and US. “Currently we are working on a five MW power project in Mazdar in Saudi Arabia that is going to be world’s first zero emission city. We also see a good market in Africa. In domestic sector,we have come up with solar applications in rural areas and we will carry forward this initiative to other parts of the country,” he said.

The company provides different applications like concentrated solar thermal power packs from 1KW to 100MW,concentrated solar air-conditioning and heating systems,concentrated solar process heat for systems for various industrial applications. The company also undertake concentrated solar waste water evaporation systems,concentrated solar desalination systems,concentrated solar space heating systems and concentrated solar drying systems to cater to industrial needs.
