THE Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) along with India Meteorological Department will hold a seminar on standardisation of meteorological instruments on Friday. The seminar aims at encouraging industries to obtain BIS certification mark license (ISI mark) under the BIS certification marks scheme. BIS has published more than 18000 standards on various sectors of which 36 Indian Standards exist in the sector of meteorological instruments.
Ajit Tyagi,director general,IMD,RD Vashishta,additional director general IMD,Pune,AS Jamkhindiker,head of western regional office laboratory will be present. The seminar will feature nearly 70 participants from various industries and government organisations.
