Orderly Chaos

“ Rangon, kisson, bhaagon mein bati hai zindagi; Doobte, ugte, suraj ki kahaani hai zindagi; Bujhti, jalti ummeed hai yeh zindagi …”

These words, inscribed in Devnagri script on a painting by artist Shubhra Chaturvedi gives it a newer dimension. Bold colours, neat shapes and orderly construction seems to be her forte. This artwork titled Zara si zindagi ,is a part of her exhibition “Samanvay” which has now travelled to Pune at Malaka Spice till November 15. The exhibition which was held in Delhi earlier this year, will showcase around 25 of the artist’s works here. Chaturvedi, who calls her collection an ‘orderly chaos’,will showcase artwork made with photographs, new media, paper, acrylic sheets, thermocol bits and other odds and ends. “Samanvay in Sanskrit means ‘coming together’ of things,” says the Delhi-based artist. “I have worked on this particular collection for a year-and-a-half now,and have added eight new works for the Pune exhibition,” she says. The exhibition “Samanvay” will be held at Malaka Spice,Lane 5,Koregaon Park till November 15,from 11 am to 11 pm.
