Sangam move up to 2nd division

Sangam C were crowned champions of the third division after they defeated Extreme Warriors in the penalty shootout in the third division final of the Peninsula Land Pune district football league organised by the Pune District Football Association and held at the Range Hills ground on Thursday.

The final was a tense affair and both teams were trying to go one-up each other out in the first half. The second half saw some attacks in the last few minutes but both the defences remained strong. The match ended 0-0 in regulation time and went to penalties. Sangam won 3-2 in the penalty shootout with Omkar Pujari,Kaushal Jain and Mohit Garg coring for the winning team and Anand Vinod and Mangesh Virmani scoring for the losing team. As a result of being the top two teams in their division,both Sangam C and Extreme Warriors have earned a promotion to the second division.
