Salsa Moves in Town

Irisha and Awadhesh,a talented salsa duo from Pune,will be showing off some moves at The Olive Bistro on February 26,8.30 pm onwards.

Irisha and Awadhesh,a talented salsa duo from Pune,will be showing off some moves at The Olive Bistro on February 26,8.30 pm onwards. The Mediterranean restaurant is located inside the Poona Club,Bund Garden Road. The duo will host a 45-minute workshop on basic salsa techniques,followed by a night of Cuban music over mocktails. Their approach to salsa is fluid,lucid and full of heart.

Hindustani Melody

Vocalist Saniya Patankar took music lovers on a journey of Hindustani classical form at a concert organised by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations at the University of Pune. She performed the Shaam Kalyan Raag,followed by bandhishes in a variety of taals including Bela Sanj Ki,Jeeyo Mere Lal and Saawan ki Sanj Bhayee. Patankar ended her performance with Hori,a style from the Jaipur gharana. She was accompanied by Avinash Patil on the tabla,Suyog Kundalkar on harmonium and Gauri Limayi and Neha Varnaker on the tanpura.
