3-year-old boy killed in Hadapsar after car runs over him, driver held
Police said Dhanwate started driving the dumper without noticing that a man was sleeping under it.

A three-year-old boy was killed when a speeding car ran over him in Hadapsar area of Pune city following which the car driver was arrested, police said on Sunday.
The boy, Vishnu Jadhav, was playing on the road side near Sai Tower in Manjari Budruk around 4 pm on March 28 when the incident happened, police said adding that the boy died before being taken to hospital.
An FIR in the matter was registered at the Hadapsar police station based on a complaint filed by the boy’s father Amrish Jadhav, who is a construction worker.
Sub Inspector Anil Binavade, the investigation officer, said that the car driver, Pintu Mali (33), has been arrested on charges of negligent driving.
Police have booked the accused driver under section 106(1), 281 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and sections of the Motor Vehicle Act.
In another incident, a dumper ran over a 26-year-old man who was sleeping under it at Kirkatwadi on the Sinhagad road around 10.15 pm on March 28.
Police have identified the deceased as Devanand Suresh Margutti , a resident of Kirkatwadi.
The dumper driver, Sandip Dhanwate (33), was arrested based on a complaint by the deceased’s brother Sachin Margutti.
Police said Dhanwate started driving the dumper without noticing that a man was sleeping under it.
The FIR was registered against the dumper driver at the Nanded city police station under BNS section 106(1) and sections of the Motor Vehicle Act. Assistant police inspector Rahul Yadav is investigating the case.
