As many as 39 years have gone by since 243 cadets of the 39th course of the National Defence Academy (NDA),Khadakwasla, graduated in 1970. However, the spirit and camaraderie of yore were still evident when most of them got together for a reunion at their alma mater. They relived the old times, exchanged stories and had a jolly good time.

Quite a few from the course have risen to top of their chosen profession through sheer diligence and professionalism, said a press note from the NDA. Prominent among them are Air Marshal NAK Browne, who is the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Air Command,Lt Gen Vinay Sharma,Air Marshal Dhiraj Kukreja,Lt Gen SN Handa,COS,HQ South Western Command,Lt Gen V K Ahluwalia,Air Mshl KK Nohwar,Lt Gen Vinod Naynar,AVSM,Commandant,School of Artillery,Devlali. Maj Gen B S Grewal, who is now Deputy Commandant and chief instructor of the NDA,is also from the same course and thus had the special privilege of playing host to his course-mates,many of whom had come along with their family members. The three-day reunion included staying in the same cabins, following the routine of the cadet days, social evenings, reunion dinners and so on,the note said.
