Rail roko in Badlapur: Solapur-Mumbai Vande Bharat diverted

A railway official from Pune Division said the agitation did not impact the division as the affected trains were diverted after they had crossed Pune Division.

The 22226 Vande Bharat Express, en route from Solapur to Mumbai via Pune, was diverted following the rail roko by protesters at Badlapur railway station. Protests broke out at Badlapur in Thane district on Tuesday over the alleged sexual assault of two four-year-old school children by a cleaning staff.

A railway official from Pune Division said the agitation did not impact the division as the affected trains were diverted after they had crossed Pune Division.

The Vande Bharat Express along with several other trains of the Central Railway (CR) were either stopped or diverted because of the protests.

CR PRO Swapnil Nila said despite Pune Division remaining unaffected, trains running via Pune, such as Vande Bharat Express, Hyderabad-CSMT, Madras-CSMT and Pune-Nizamuddin, among others, were diverted.
