PMPML bus knocks down 70-year-old woman

A Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) bus knocked down a 70-year-old woman near Lal Mahal on Shivaji Road around 8.45 pm on Friday.

The Faraskhana police have arrested the bus driver Hanumant Ramrao Zalte (36) of Upper Indira Nagar. Police said that the deceased Kamal Ramchandra Patharkar was walking towards Lal Mahal after visiting the Peshwe Ganpati on Shivaji road when the PMPML bus knocked her down.

She was rushed to a hospital where she was pronounced dead. Her son Santosh Patharkar has lodged a police complaint. Police sub inspector A B Phuke is investigating the case.
