PMC waives off road digging charges for installing CCTVs

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) standing committee on Tuesday decided to waive off road digging charges for installing CCTV cameras across the city

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) standing committee on Tuesday decided to waive off road digging charges for installing CCTV cameras across the city.

“To strengthen security,the state government had proposed a project to install CCTVs across the city. The plan is ready and work on the project will begin soon. The civic body has decided to contribute to the project by waiving off road digging charges to lay network cables,” said Vishal Tambe,Chairman,PMC Standing Committee.

Meanwhile,the committee also approved the civic administration proposal to decrease digging charges for BSNL to lay its cables across the city. “The civic body had earlier decreased digging charges for MSEDCL from Rs 2,600 to Rs 2,000. A similar demand came from BSNL and we approved it ,” he added.

Erect pandals without digging roads,PMC urges Ganesh mandals

Pune: Under criticism for scores of potholes surfacing on city roads,the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) administration has appealed to Ganesh mandals to erect pandals without digging roads.

“Our effort is to keep all the city roads in good condition. Many ganesh mandals have started erecting pandals without digging roads. The rest of the Ganesh mandals should also avoid digging roads,” said Additional City Engineer Pramod Nirbhavane in a press statement.
