PMC teams demolish 5 illegal constructions

In Vadgaonsheri,a four-storey building of 5,000 sq ft area in survey number 52 was demolished while action on another building was stopped after the owner gave in writing that he would pull down the building himself. The owner,however,did not demolish the building on his own saying he was unable to get labourers for the purpose.

There was some opposition from local citizens and Sena corporator Sachin Bhagat to the action on illegal constructions.

In Someshwarwadi in Baner,a three-storey building of 3,000 sq ft was razed while one storey of a two-storey building was pulled down in survey number 2. The team took action against a three-storey building in Pashan and two floors of a four-storey building in Baner.

The civic administration had assured that its action would mainly be for bringing down illegal concrete structures in the city,but one of the teams razed a 5,000 sq ft tin shed used as an eating joint near Chaturshingi on Senapati Bapat Road.
