Pune Pedal Power Foundation on Monday announced the official launch of its 3rd Annual Pune Pedal Power Cycle Rally. The rally will be held on June 3 in association with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) as part of the World Environment Day celebrations. The foundation is committed to promoting cycles as the first choice of mobility for short distances and to make Pune a cycle-friendly city. The city has a history of cycling as it claims the maximum number of cycles and longest cycle tracks. Super model and fitness icon Milind Soman,also known as the The Marathon Man,was also present at the launch. Soman,the ambassador for the rally,will be leading the rally along with the participants. He recently completed the green run covering 1,500 km from Delhi to Mumbai in 30 days. The 13-km rally will start from S P College Grounds and will conclude at the Corinthians Boutique Hotel. The registration for the rally is free.
