PDFA league: UPSA,Parshuramians in semis

UPSA defeated Bharati FC 4-3 in the tie breaker after drawing 0-0 at full time. Aditya Shetty,Dinesh Jadhav,Parag Rawade and Gaurav Jagtap scored for the winners while Ajinkya Shinde,Rohit Kharade and Rajan Mandal scored for the losing team. In the second quarterfinal,Parshuramians ‘B’ defeated Ashoka XI 3-1 in the tie breaker after drawing 2-2 at the end of regulation time.

Anup Nair gave Ashoka an early lead in the third minute and got his team off to a good start. Parshuramians equalised through Girish Samal in the 37th minute only to lose the lead again in the next three minutes through Jason John. Ganesh Jadhav then scored in the 47 th minute and forced the game into a tie breaker. Abhishek Popate,Girish Samal and Sanket Bhandari converted their penalties for Parshuramians while Prasad Kumbhar converted his penalty for Ashoka. For Sunday,the remaining two second division quarterfinals between Deccan FC ‘B’ and CAFVD and Chetak ‘B’ and VOBA will take place.

The super division will witness a mouth watering clash between old rivals Deccan XI ‘A’ and City Club. Pune FC will take on CMS Falcons in the following match.

The tournament has been organised by the Pune district Football Association.
