One more held for helping Raut flee from Sassoon

The city police have arrested another person for allegedly helping Yogesh Raut escape from Sassoon General Hospital in 2011.

The city police have arrested another person for allegedly helping Yogesh Raut escape from Sassoon General Hospital in 2011. Raut is the prime accused in the Nayana Pujari gangrape and murder case.

After receiving a tip-off,the Crime Branch of Pune police laid a trap and arrested Satish Ashok Padekar (28) on Wednesday. Police said Padekar,a resident of Sawargaon in Ahmednagar district,was part of the conspiracy hatched to help Raut flee from the hospital. He had allegedly arranged a motorcycle which was used by Raut to flee.

Senior police inspector Satish Govekar of Dattawadi police station,who also investigated the case,said,“had received a tip-off that Padekar will be coming to Wagholi. Accordingly,a team led by police inspector Sachin Sawant laid a trap and nabbed him.”
