One killed in road accident

A car knocked down a man,who was crossing the road near Vallabh Nagar state transport bus stand,killing him on the spot on Thursday.

The victim has been identified as 43-year-old S K Anthony,a resident of Bopodi.

The Pimpri police have booked the driver of the car . According to the police,Anthony went to the state transport bus stand at Vallabh Nagar along with his parents,in an auto-rickshaw.

It is known that his parents were on the way to Mumbai. He picked up their luggage and was crossing the road to enter the bus stand. Though the local residents rushed him to the YCM hospital,the doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

Police said that he has been survived by wife and two children.
