A 25-year-old man was killed after his bike dashed into the rear of a truck parked at the side of the road. The incident occurred around 1.30 am on Sunday on NDA Road in front of Bavdhan police chowky. The deceased has been identified as Hitesh Govind Prasad Sharma (25),a resident of Vaidehi Enclave in Bavdhan.
Chain snatched
Two unidentified thieves snatched a gold chain from a 67-year-old woman at Salisbury Park on Saturday evening at 8.15 pm. According to the Swargate police,Rekha Rajaram Somvanshi,a resident of Asha Park society in Salisbury Park,Gultekdi,was outside her building around 8.15 pm on Saturday evening when two people on a bike approached her to enquired about an address. Soon,they snatched her gold chain worth Rs 5,000 and rode away.
Rape: 25-yr-old arrested
The Samarth police have arrested a 25-year-old man for raping a 19-year-old girl several times since August 2005. According to the police,accused Saurabh Hariman Shinde of Nana Peth had promised to marry the girl. Since August 2005 took her to different hotels on Sinhagad Road and raped her. He also clicked her nude photos and blackmailed her. Even after knowing that the girl was married,he forcibly took her to Alandi and married her. He also threatened the girls family if they took any action against him.
One held for stealing mobile phone
The Cantonment police have arrested Samir alias John Nasir Shaikh of Somwar Peth for snatching a mobile phone worth Rs 24,000 from a 24-year-old man in front of Hotel Yezdan on Dastur Meher Road in Camp on March 15. Imran Imtiyaz Khan (24),a resident of Taboot Street,had filed a complaint with the Cantonment police. However,the police is still in search of another accused Jahid Rajjaq Shaikh.
