No life without wife!

That’s what viewers got to see on the first episode of reality show Wife Bina Life on Star Plus on January 29. A spokesperson of the show says,”After a lot of research,Pune was chosen as the market for the show. We approached families in the NIBM area and 10 were chosen.” The show will go on for 10 weeks and viewers will see the hubbys getting eliminated by the wives based on their performance.

In early November,when three families – Arvind and Sheetal Patil,Dr Chandrashekhar and Rupali Kadam,Yogesh and Rekha Athvani – from Palace Orchards,NIBM Road,were short-listed for the show ,there was excitement in their homes. The shoot started on November 25. “I had never lived like that before – without my wife managing the house. It was just me and my six-year-old daughter Saee. I was stressed out and nervous,and the constant attention from the camera and crew chilled the already cold feet I had!” says Dr Kadam.

The wives were sent on a vacation to Amby Valley and the hubbies,as shown in the first episodes of the show last weekend,had to cook,clean,get the kids ready for school,help them with homework and play the double role of mom and dad. Arvind Patil,who has lived in the US for 10 years,had a fair idea of the ‘independent culture’ that would attack him in his wife’s absence. “I viewed it like a game show and planned my strategy. I had two things in mind – to tend to the physical and emotional needs of my sons Aryan and Samar,” he shares.

Even though Dr Kadam had to leave the show mid-way because of personal reasons,he went through the whole grind of ironing Saee’s uniform,packing her lunch box,taking up her studies,playing and watching TV with her. Even as he describes the hours-long shoot for a two-minute shot where they had to look good and wear proper clothes,he smiles at the outcome. “It is only during this period that I realised the maturity in my daughter. We bonded so well that now she doesn’t want to go to her mother!” he chuckles.
