National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS) is one of India's leading research institutions in cell biology and biomedical research. (Source: Wikipedia/ Representational Image) Dr Srinivas Kaveri, director of CNRS Bureau in India (French Embassy) in New Delhi, on Saturday highlighted the importance of international collaborations, citing examples of Indo-French partnerships in medicine and science over the centuries.
Kaveri on Saturday was speaking at the 35th foundation day of National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS) — one of India’s leading research institutions in cell biology and biomedical research — on the topic ‘Standing up to face changing times and moving challenges’.
He shared an overview on the current opportunities for Indo-French scientific partnerships through organisations such as CNRS and CEFIPRA, and appreciated the active and productive participation of NCCS scientists in such collabo- rations along the diverse fields of cell biology.
Professors Sunil Bhagwat (director, IISER-Pune) and Suresh Gosavi (vice-chancellor, Savitribai Phule Pune University) were the guests of honour. Dr Mohan Wani, director of NCCS was present at the event. ens
