19-year-old Rajiv Manuel has been a music junkie for years now and hopes to make a career out of his passion for guitars, rock bands and all things musical
I enjoyed music since an early age. I still remember when my dad bought me my first toy guitar at the age of three. I have been fascinated by the instrument ever since and have been learning to play it for the past three years. I have also recently started voice training classes to improve my range of vocals and I jam often with a few of my friends. I played for my college at the Mood-I this year and it was a fantastic experience. I listen to bands like The Beatles,GreenDay,Wolfmother and Rosemary. Since I am interested in everything that has to do with creating music- right from the sounds to lyrics to the final mix, sound production would be a great option for me to pursue. This includes (but isnt limited to) sound engineering, music production and film scoring. Although music has always been a passion,I never considered it from professional viewpoint until recently because theres not much to be said about the Indian Rock scene. But when I realised the creative freedom and artistic satisfaction that this field had to offer,I was hooked. Sir Timothy Rice Bindon (commonly referred to as Tim Rice),who is an award winning English lyricist has been one of my inspirations to get into this field. Currently,I am pursuing a BBA (IT) degree from Symbiosis University but I hope to study at the Berklee College of Music in Boston,Massachusetts because, along with providing me with a framework I need,it will also encourage individual freedom.
