The court of principal district and sessions judge Anant Badar on Friday framed murder charges against Anushree Kundra (39) in the Juhi Prasad murder case. The court also framed attempt-to-murder charges against Kundra for trying to kill Nimesh Sinha. Prasad was Sinhas fiance. Kundra was Sinhas former girlfriend.
The court framed the charges after the draft charges against Kundra were submitted by district government pleader (DGP) Ujjwala Pawar in April. The next date of hearing is July 27, said advocate Vaibhav Jathar,Kundras counsel.
Kundra has been accused of murdering Juhi,a Delhi-based lawyer and family friend of BJP leader Rajiv Pratap Rudy,on October 13,2011,at Sinhas flat at Wanowrie. Sinha suffered burn injuries. Kundra was arrested after she surrendered in a court on November 15. Kundra had filed a writ petition in the Bombay HC alleging police illegally detained her from December 8 for two weeks as they had failed to procure a court order to extend her judicial custody. High Court justice Abhay Thipsay has directed sessions judge Badar to initiate a judicial inquiry into the allegation and submit a report by July 26.
Juhis father A N Prasad, alleging Sinha had a role in the murder, had submitted an application in a magistrate court seeking a detailed police probe. The police submitted a report last month that there was no evidence to prove Sinha had any role.
