Motorcycle Expedition flagged off from Southern Command War Memorial in Pune

The expedition is taking the route Mhow - Deolali - Pune - Belgaum - Goa - Satara - Mumbai - Nashik and back to Mhow covering over 2400 kilometers

A MOTORCYCLE expedition titles ‘Wheels of Valour’ to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of the 1965 war and mark the Raising Day of Military College of Telecommunication Engineering, Mhow, was flagged off from Southern Command Pune War Memorial by Southern Army Commander Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth on Saturday.

Wheels of Valour, a team of 14 motorcyclists will be riding approx 2400 kilometers traversing across seven cities, all of which are in Southern Command, to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of the 1965 India Pakistan War and mark the occasion of the 79th Raising Day of Military College of Telecommunication Engineering, a key training establishment of the Corps of Signals of the India Army located at Mhow. The Pune to Belgaum leg of the expedition was flagged off by the Army Commander on Saturday. The expedition is taking the route Mhow – Deolali – Pune – Belgaum – Goa – Satara – Mumbai – Nashik and back to Mhow covering over 2400 kilometers.

“Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command flagged off Motorcycle Expedition ‘Wheels of Valour’ from Southern Command Pune War Memorial on October 4. The expedition is aimed at honouring the valour and sacrifices of the armed forces while instilling pride and esprit-de-corps among the participants,” a release from the Southern Command stated.

The release further added, “The event also seeks to highlight jointmanship and synergy between the three services. In consonance with this spirit, the expedition is being conducted with active association of Indian Navy and Indian Air Force. The expedition symbolizes the values of discipline, endurance and camaraderie, reflecting the ethos of the Armed Forces. A tribute to the courage and sacrifice of our heroes, the expedition serves as an inspiring call to the youth to embrace discipline, endurance and patriotism. It stands as a tribute to the legacy of the 1965 war and re-affirms the commitment of the services to safeguard the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country.”
