*American couple Chester and Davida Herwitz first bought MF Husain paintings in the mid-sixties and went on to build a definitive Husain collection. Collectors and supporters of Indian art,they were introduced to many artists by Husain. They established the Chester and Davida Herwitz Charitable Trust to support Indian art in the US.

*Ashish Anand,owner of Delhi Art Gallery,showed Husain’s works at the India Art Summit this year,which ran into controversy. The DAG collection of the Masters from the Progressive Period is considered one of the best.

*No collection is complete without a Husain and,while Kiran Nadar’s KNMA Museum is known for Saurashtra by SH Raza,it also has two rare,early Husains.

*The late Jehangir Nicholson was one of Mumbai’s earliest art collectors and his premium suite of Husains,Razas and Souzas are up at the Nicholson Gallery in Mumbai.
