State Medical Education Minister Hasan Mushrif on Tuesday emphasized that the practice of modern medicine must remain with MBBS doctors.
He was speaking with representatives from various medical associations including Maharashtra Association of Resident Doctors (MARD), Federation of All India Medical Association and others on the issue of a state decision regarding registration of certified homeopathy practitioners to practice modern medicine.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Dr. Sachin Patil, President, Central unit of Maharashtra Association of Resident Doctors, and others including Dr.Swapnil Kendre Dr. Suyash Dhavane Dr. Deepak Kavhar said that the government has assured commitment to preserve modern medicine and oppose registration of the Certificate Course in Modern Pharmacology (CCMP) certified homeopathy practitioners.
“The Pravara incident will be investigated with accountability and infrastructure and hostel issues are on record for follow-up. Our meeting ended with a clear assurance that the voices of doctors have been heard and will be acted upon,” Dr Patil said.
