The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education refused to reveal the further course of action to be taken in case of 51 HSC students whose physics answer sheets were lost on Friday.

The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) refused to reveal the further course of action to be taken in case of 51 HSC students whose physics answer sheets were lost on Friday. While Dattatraya Naik, assistant teacher with Pune Municipal Corporation’s (PMC) Netaji Subhashchandra Bose school in Yerawada has been suspended till further orders, the fate of concerned students still remains uncertain.

Chairman of MSBSHSE Vijaysheela Sardesai said on Tuesday,“The Board will soon take decision in this case.” She refused to comment further. Naik who was driving from Navi Sanghvi to the Board office at Shivajinagar to deposit the answer sheets had placed the envelope in the rear of his bike. Near Patil Estate slums,he turned round to find that the envelope was missing.

Naik had reported the incident to school headmaster Janardhan Tonde. He also made attempts to retrace his movements and recover the answer sheets, but to no avail. The school had submitted a report on the missing answer sheets to the Board’s secretary Shakuntala Kale and joint directors Manik Bangar and Suresh Kulkarni for information and necessary action.

A missing complaint has been registered at Khadki Police Station. Sub-police inspector G M Bagode is investigating the case.
