Religion perpetrates into our lives entwining with it our culture and the world around. The Marathi-Kannada Snehavardhan Kendra working for the language,recently announced the results of the Kannada Abhyas Varg examination conducted in April 2010. In this examination,Pallavi P Khadilkar secured 94 percent and came first in the class,followed by Anita Ashok Gadgil who scored 93.5 percent and Vilas Utturkar securing third rank with 93 percent marks. The organisation recorded a 100 per cent success rate this year. The centre’s head,B R Sabde,general secretary K S Hegde,trustee Yashoda More and V Revenkar Avarjun were present on the occasion. Sabde motivated the students to take the language ahead.
Philosophically speaking
You are the architect of your destiny,says the founder of the Jeevanvidya Misson,Wamanrao Pai famous for spreading his philosophy of self-belief across the country. Recently at a function organised by the Institute of Financial Professionals Association (IFPA) at the Shivaji Sports Complex in Balewadi, Wamanrao Pai,was given the honour of inaugurating the event and he started the event with a talk. Pai described the mind as a chain of thoughts and added that our entire life,revolves around this chain. Many people fail to realize this he said adding,One will achieve happiness in life,only when the mind is genuinely happy. The founder and head of IFPA Deepak Joshi in his speech,spoke about the thought processes and knowledge required in the field of finance. He also provided insights on various policies,with regard to financial matters. IFPA’s coordinator Amit Kothar along with numerous other members of IFPA guided those present. Mukesh Joshi also released his book Drishti,in Marathi at this event. The evening saw more than 4000 aspiring policy agents from all over the country.
Serving the almighty
Remembering the almighty with ardent devotion,the Samasth Maheshwari Samaj held a ceremony in Harihar mandir where prayers were offered to Lord Shankar. The ceremony took place on June 20,between 5 30 to 7 30 in Raviwar Peth. Later,between 8 am till 10 am a Maahshobayatra was conducted which started at Nanapeth and went through Shreeram Mandir,A D Camp Chowk,Ramoshogate- Shonmarg talkies,Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru marg,Seven Lafaz Chowk and Oswal Bandhu Samaj Karyalaya. There was a blood donation camp from 10 30 am to 2 pm at the Oswal Bandhu Samaj Karyalaya. The camp came across as a social service to the society. The program was followed by a Hindi Hasya Kavi Samelan which was well attended.
