Providing an interactive space for musicians,listeners and artistes the music festival Baajaa Gaajaa is back once again with greater musical platform and opportunities for participants and audience alike. Conceptualized by vocalist Shubha Mudgal and percussionist Aneesh Pradhan,Baajaa Gaajaa,will be dedicated Indian as well as western music with diverse performances and genres of music. The event will bring together musicians,music lovers,scholars,instrument makers and a host of organizations and individuals together from February 5 to 7.
Santoor maestro Shivkumar Sharma will inaugurate the festival that will this year involve artistes,manufacturers and craftsmen along with musicians as well as workshops and seminars to discuss various aspects of music. It is an effort to bring to the forefront the diversity of India music through a host of forms,voices and instruments. Many of them are not heard as they are only region specific. Some of the measures of our success are that so many musicians have joined hands to collaborate and we will have almost 50 performances apart from seminars,films and so on. The festival will include artiste from folk music to western and then an amalgation of both, adds Mudgal.
