A seminar on Human resource issues for Sappers was held recently at BEG Centre,Khadki,under the aegis of Maj Gen S S Sengupta,chief engineer,Southern Command. The seminar comprised five sessions. Several serving and retired Army officers participated,said a press note.
Over two days,the paticipants deliberated on human resource issues that would be impacting Sappers in future,such as intake,training and other personnel practices.
In his keynote address,Lt Gen Pradeep Khanna,GOC-in -C,Southern Command,empasised that human resource issues in the Indian Army should not be considered in isolation but in the context of economic growth,geo-political and social conditions prevailing in the nation. Lt Gen Mukesh Sabharwal,Adjutant General,spoke on human resource issues that affected the Indian Army. Lt Gen A K Nanda,engineer-in-chief,said the aspirations of PBOR will need to be kept uppermost in the mind,if the force has to remained motivated.
