Authentic kitchen
Pune gets a chance to tingle its palette with Vidarbha’s authentic Varhadi cuisine with the launch of Me Maratha at Kothrud near Dashbhuja Ganapati Mandir. The 60-seater restaurant boasts of Varhadi-style chicken, fish and mutton dishes, teamed with jowar rotis. On the menu are also the usual suspects like chiken biryani and mutton biryani, but with a Varhadi twist. The main spices used in the food are black pepper, dry coriander, bay leaves, grey cardamom, cinnamon, cloves etc. Speaking on the occasion of the opening, Baburao Hushangabade,co-owner of Me Maratha said,Varhadi cusine is rarely available in Pune. The greatness of the cuisine is that it is very spicy, yet it is not harmful to the body. For Punekars,we have reduced the quantity of chilli powder in the food to make it less spicy, but without losing its authenticity. People will definitely enjoy the intriguing taste of this great cuisine. The restaurant is open from 11 am 3 pm and 7.30 pm 11 pm. Home delivery available.
