The taste of streets
Street markets in Thailand and Malaysia have their own charm, with food stalls liberally scattered between stalls of junk jewellery, clothes, decorations, and so on. Taking their cue from these South-East Asian countries,Malaka Street has come up with a concept similar to that of a flea market, with random stalls, which change every week, indispersed with food stalls. The restaurant has also come up with a new menu for its food stalls, which now boast of Malaysian street food like Tempura, which is deep-fried meat or vegetables with a sweetish batter,Satay, which consists of marinated and skewered meat or vegetables and Curry Mee,a sort of soup-noodles. Among the other attractions are a tattoo artist and a genuine Malaysian push-rickshaw,and if lucky, one can see some artists paint live.
Scary spread
Halloween is supposedly the day when all spooks, ghouls and other fantasy creatures come to life. However,it is also a day for celebration and revelry. Smokies at Corinthian Boutique Hotel has organised a special Halloween weekend,in recognition of this festival, which will include decorations, costumes, special games and rock n roll!
