Desert delights

Arabic tradition tells us that the barbeque was invented by Turkic soldiers who used their swords to grill meat over open field fires. Following in similar footsteps,Barbeque Nation has introduced the concept of vertical skewers for grilling. The crimini mushrooms from Lebanon,Joojeh kebab from Persia and Gafgashi kebab from Turkey, along with many others leave the guests craving for more. New additions in the beverage menu for the fest include refreshing and cooling drinks like the Sahara shot and Pista Sherbet. The festival, called ‘Gulfest’ will have the best of barbeques from Turkey,Lebanon,Egypt,Iran and Morocco, and is on till June 26 every evening.

The monsoon antidote

On rainy days, with their chilly breeze, nothing feels better than a warm cup of coffee. This monsoon,Aromas Café is offering special cappuccinos, cattes and Americanos, made from Brisbane-roasted coffee beans. Also on the menu is the special “Yogi Chai”,which contains cinnamon, hawthorn petals, ginger bits, cardamom, cloves and black pepper,a healthy option for those who prefer tea over coffee.
