The Pune police on Thursday arrested 32-year-old Dayanand Jadhav,a resident of Namrata Apartment on Sus Road,for allegedly misusing the national emblem. Police said that Jadhav made bogus documents showing that he was district director of Krishi Vikas Shilpa Kendra,a Delhi-based organisation authorised by the Central Government. Police said that he also printed the national emblem on his identity card.
A complaint in this regard was lodged on Wednesday at the Chaturshringi police station. Police booked Jadhav under section 420,465,468,511of the Indian Penal Code,section 3,4,7 of the state emblem of India (prohibition of improper use) Act 2005 and section 3 and 5 of the emblem and names (prohibition of improper use) Act 1950.
Investigation officer,assistant police inspector S B Jawale said that Jadhav prepared bogus letterhead of Krishi Vikas Shilpa Kendra.
In November 2008,using these letterheads,he wrote letters to the district collector and other senior government officers saying that he has been appointed district director of the organisation. He said that various government schemes were being carried out through the organisation, Jawale said.
A few months ago,the district collectorate informed the police that the letter sent by Jadhav were dubious. We have now arrested him as it was confirmed that he had cheated the government offices, he said.
Jadhav claims that the head office of Krishi Vikas Shilpa Kendra is at Jharkhand. Investigation is on to verify the details of this organisation, he said.
