Among other major reshuffles, Pune district collector transferred

Deshmukh had taken charge of the post in 2020 during the COVID 19 pandemic. Back then Pune was the hotspot of the COVID pandemic. Diwase was then the Agriculture Commissioner and had to steer a very challenging role of ensuring that supply chains remained open during the pandemic.

As Commissioner, Agriculture, Diwase had managed to lay down a strict protocol to control the spread of Fall armyworm. He also spearheaded the project to integrate land records of the state with the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana to stop leakages in the system.

Hailing for a family of agriculturists, Diwase had earlier served as the district collector of Bhandara as well as the chief of the Pimpri Chinchwad New Town Development Authority (PCNTDA). During his stint as the chief of the PCNTDA he had taken steps to improve the transparency in land records. Diwase had also served as the Metropolitan Commissioner of the Pune Metropolitan Regional Development Authority.

Earlier, the state government had transferred Sourabh Rao, the Divisional Commissioner of Pune, and appointed Chandrashekhar Pulkundwar, the Sugar Commissioner as the new Divisional Commissioner. Anil Kawade was moved as Sugar Commissioner while Rao was appointed as the Commissioner, Cooperation in place of Kawade.
