Lt Gen Shrinjay Pratap Singh assumes charge as Chief of Staff of Southern Command
For his exemplary achievements as Brigade Commander, Lt Gen Shrinjay Pratap Singh has been conferred with Yudh Seva Medal.

Lieutenant General Shrinjay Pratap Singh on Tuesday assumed charge as Chief of Staff of the Southern Command.
An alumnus of National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, and Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, the General Officer is a second-generation officer and was commissioned into Infantry on June 10, 1989. He has served in varied terrain and operational areas, having commanded an Infantry Battalion in the Semi Desert Sector, a Brigade in Counter Insurgency and Counter Terrorist operations in the Valley, a Division on Northern borders and a Corps on the Western front in Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab, a press statement from Southern Command read.
For his exemplary achievements as Brigade Commander, he has been conferred with Yudh Seva Medal. He made it in the competitive list of Defence Staff Selection Course, attended Higher Command Course at Army War College, Mhow and National Defence College Course from Army War College, Carlisle, USA.
The General Officer holds a Masters degree from Madras University, Chennai, MPhil degree from Devi Ahilya University, Indore and a Masters in Strategic Studies from Army War College, Carlisle Barracks, PA, USA, the release said. He has also served in numerous staff appointments, some of the important ones being the Military Operations Directorate, Colonel (General Staff) of an Infantry Division in the Walley and as Brigadier General Staff Headquarters 15 Corps.
Earlier on Monday, Lt Gen Manjit Kumar relinquished the charge of Chief of Staff of headquarters Southern Command as he superannuated after an illustrious service of 38 years. On his last day in service, he laid a wreath at the Command War Memorial, Pune in remembrance of the brave hearts and war heroes.
