Focusing on the theme of cosmic energy,Gangadas Machcha draws some dissimilar strokes in his thirteenth solo exhibition
This one outdoes the seeing is believing expression, instead goes a step further and explicates how feeling is believing. Showcasing around thirty paintings on the exceptional theme of cosmic energy city artist Gangadas Machcha is making sure the paintings spread the feel good factor.
Specialising in landscapes, this is Machchas thirteenth solo exhibition that analysis an atypical concept. Cosmic energy is a from of spiritual energy, which when accessed creates vibration that helps removing various negative emotions like stress and depression and increases the concentration.
I have been working on the idea since the last five years examining color therapy, vaastu shastra and so on. Cosmic energy in itself is pretty abstract and so also my work. I have also tried to project the five elements (Pancha Tattva) with paintings of water bodies, forests and so on. The paintings are completed in mix media colors and I have even made colors on my own for this series with definite proportions, he adds.
With no formal training in art Machcha holds a post graduate degree in Commerce and works as a special assistant in State Bank of India, and maintains that painting is a hobby. Having started with greeting cards, wall hangings, frames and tiles on Ganesha he has always preferred landscape for their ability to bestow energy. Having extensively researched and read on colour schemes, artists and art works, adding more on his newest creation Machcha says,I have drawn thousands of lines and circles and when one line strokes over the other they create energy that in turn activates our nerves and we feel lively. I also believe that energy cannot be derived if the source is not pleasant. The sun for instance is a persistent source but it looks pleasing only during the dusk and dawn. Hence I have consciously used cool colours like light blue, light ivory and so on. I feel that lines are quite expressive and the works unlike other paintings wont simply look engaging,it will captivate the viewer. I wish to spread happiness through this exhibition.
The exhibition will be on till May 26 between 11 am and 7 pm at J Studio Art Gallery,Balewadi
