In a bid to promote Kolhapur as a global tourist destination,Kolhapur Tourism was launched officially in Pune. The Hoteliers Association of Kolhapur officially announced Kolhapur Tourism and unveiled its website, http://www.kolhapurtourism.org.
Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday,Anand Mane,president,Kolhapur Tourism,said the initiative is aimed at promoting tourism in Kholapur and attract both domestic and international tourists. Kolhapur is a land with a rich history and has many things to offer to every tourist such as rivers,lakes,dams,hill stations. temples,forts,shopping – chappals,Kolhapuri gold and silver ornaments,spices and jaggery-and the Kolhapuri Cuisine said Mane.
He said the Kolhapur Tourism is rolled out in Pune,as Pune is the nearest and most potential market. So we are now participating in ‘Pune Festival’ and have organised a Kolhapur Mahotsav on Sunday, at 12 noon at Yashwantrao Chavan Natyagruha and ‘Balgandharva Rangamandir’,We would be displaying artifacts there, he said.
