Kirloskar engineer killed in accident

An engineer with Kirloskar Pneumatics Company in Hadapsar Pritesh Prakash Nikate (24) was knocked down by a speeding tanker at Sayyad Nagar in Hadapsar around 6.45 am on Saturday killing him on the spot.

An engineer with Kirloskar Pneumatics Company in Hadapsar Pritesh Prakash Nikate (24) was knocked down by a speeding tanker at Sayyad Nagar in Hadapsar around 6.45 am on Saturday killing him on the spot. Nikate was a resident of Sayyad Nagar.

Navaz Ahmed Patel,a resident of Sayyad Nagar-Mohammedwadi Road has lodged a complaint with the Wanavdi police. The Wanavdi police have arrested the driver of the tanker Bhanudas Gajanan Chavan (25) of Daund.

According to the police,Nikate was going to his workplace on a motorcycle,when the tanker carrying milk knocked him down from behind. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Nikate is the second engineer from Kirloskar Pneumatics to be killed in a road accident. About 20 days ago,Sagar Subhash Awati (22),who was with Kirloskar was killed when a military vehicle hit his motorcycle at St. Mary’s chowk in Camp. Awati was a resident of Uday Park in Kothrud.
