Musician Shitalchandr Kulkarnis song Chase Me has been featured on a popular music website as the pick of the month
Shitalchandr Kulkarni does not think twice before mentioning that the highlight of the year has been his instrumental tracks,Chase me,Growth and Shitaletto on the top, being listed on songdew.com. The website, which features over 400 Indian and international artistes saw Kulkarnis rating steadily climb to the Top 10 spot. Things got better for Kulkarni after his song Chase Me found support among the online community, receiving over a 1000 hits and being selected as the Pick of the Month on the site.
But the musician is happy knowing that people across the nation have been able to listen to the track. That is the essence of any song. To be able to reach out to people. To see someone relate to it. Chase Me did not have an outstanding story. It wasnt a careful, thought out process. It just happened, says Kulkarni, who has been playing the guitar since he was a child.
The instrumental number with dark undertones is the original soundtrack (OST) for the short film,ME,which was used as a promo for the Cannes film festival, last year. Kulkarni, who had a small cameo in the film,as a guitarist, chose to record a track for the film that went on to become the OST. We never expected that to happen, but it fit in perfectly with the theme of the movie. Therefore, the track, which has dark undertones fit in, he says.
Also a founder member of the band Tungztn,he is working on the bands studio album, which releases in coming months. Kulkarni says the tracks will all be brand new works and will not feature any of the songs already on songdew.com. There are still some final tweaks on the album,so we are keeping it under wraps, he says.
