A health workshop was organised for teachers of Pune Municipal Corporation,at Lal Bahadur Primary School in Shivajinagar recently. As part of this workshop,a lecture by yoga teacher,Datta Kohinkar (Patil) was organised on the subject ‘Secret of a Stress free Life’. Patil emphasised the need of exercise,healthy food,good lifestyle and pure thoughts for a healthy body by means of several examples and stories. For mental peace and well-being,he explained the benefits of Vipassana meditation in detail.

Film on homeopathy
Dr Vijaysinha Amarsinha Nikam is coming up with a bilingual (Marathi-Hindi) movie,Pratisaad,meaning,response. The movie is based on journey of a city-based homeopathic hospital and the cast includes Sandeep Kulkarni,Kishore Kadam,Nilam Shirke,and many other renowned actors. The cinematography is done by Rajesh Khale and Dr Vikram Shrivastav,and Rohit Nagbhide has given the music.

Radiology conference
Dr Arjan Bhatia participated in recently concluded Radiology National conference at Ahemadabad,attended by over 4000 Radiologist from India and Abroad. He was invited as a guest speaker to talk “Renal Donor Evaluation”

Joining hands
The Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences (SIHS) recently signed an MoU with Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI). The development will help both organizations in developing and fostering education,training,research and professional activities involving projects among students and faculty of the two institutions.

Healthy living for doctors
To inculcate the spirit of healthy living in the budding doctors,a gymnasium,Fitness junction,at BJ Medical was inaugurated recently by Dr Vijaykumar Gavit,minister for medical education,horticulture and tourism. The gym was funded by Sancheti Sports Medicine Division (Unit of Sancheti Hospital) and the B.J Medical Staff and Alumni Association.
