World Oral Health Day
World Oral Health Day was observed on September 12 and on the occasion,Dr Pankaj Chivte spoke about the latest trends in dental care,new concepts like conscious sedation and reflexology as a part of the treatment to relax patients before the actual work on patient’s dental care needs. Chivte also said that the latest finding is to cure Sleep Apnea (excessive snoring habit which can be fatal) through dental treatment. This is a new development,along with simpler and better forms of tooth implants combined with conscious sedation and reflexology,he pointed out. On the occasion,Listerine also launched its 21 Day Challenge to encourage consumers to include mouthwash in their daily preventive oral care routine. According to Dr Gopalakrishnan,secretary general of the International Clinical Dental Research Organisation and professor of Periodontology at Santosh University in New Delhi,In India,people are waking up to the importance of preventive oral care to protect the mouth and teeth from germs. While brushing was considered enough till a few years back,we are now seeing a growing need for products like mouthwash. For a complete oral care routine and to reduce the incidence of oral problems,it is essential to use mouthwash along with brushing.

A group of adolescents,along with two psychologists,have started NEST (Nurture,Enrich and Stimulate the Teens).
