Child development lecture
The Institutes for the Achievement of Human Potential,in partnership with Fulcrum,organised a lecture for parents of children with brain injuries at Pune IT park,Bopodi. The lectures focused on brain injury,and what parents can do to help in the development of their children.The lecture’s focus was on Mentally Challenged,Cerebral Palsied,Epileptic,Autistic,Athetoid,Hyperactive,Attention Deficit Disordered,Developmentally Delayed and Down Syndrome Child. The Institutes for The Achievement of Human Potential is a nonprofit educational organisation that serves parents and children. The Institutes introduces parents to the field of Child Brain Development.
Nutrition Symposium
While there is a well enunciated National Nutrition Policy and National Rural health Mission,there is also a need for upscaling of interventions with proven efficacy,like exclusive breast feeding for the first six months,timely introduction of complimentary foods,antenatal care,feeding programmes and iron/folate supplementation and immunisations must receive focused approach,says Dr Kamala Krishnaswamy,former director of National Institute Nutrition,and former president of Nutrition Society of India. She will present her talk at the 3rd Britannia Nutrition Foundation (BNF) symposium. The 3rd BNF symposium is planned on September 2 at New Delhi and will see international and national experts from multiple sectors engaged with the issue of malnutrition.
Infection Control
NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers) and BD (Becton,Dickinson and Company) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to support hospitals in attaining quality-of-care standards for infection control. This collaboration is an effort to strengthen health systems in India and promote continuous quality improvement to ensure quality care for patients . Speaking on the occasion of the signing,Dr Giridhar J Gyani,Quality Council of India,secretary general and CEO,NABH,said,Our objective is to develop a basic infection-control standard for all hospitals delivering healthcare in India.
