The Indian Association of Dermatologists,Venereologists and Leprologists elected dermatologist Dr Narendra Patwardhan as its national vice president during the recently held elections.

The Indian Association of Dermatologists,Venereologists and Leprologists elected dermatologist Dr Narendra Patwardhan as its national vice president during the recently held elections. Dr Partwardhan will take charge of his post during DERMACON 2011,a national conference scheduled to be held at Gurgaon in February. “After being appointed as the vice president,I will be able to work better towards creating awareness about Leucoderma,Leprosy,hair related problems at a national level. I propose to undertake programmes to create awareness about various subjects not only among patients but also among member doctors of the organisation. Special campaigns on subjects like hair transplant and leucoderma need,awareness about misleading advertisements and fake practitioners will also take place,” he said.

Plastic surgery camp held
Plastic surgeon Dr Sharad Kumar Dikshit’s 20th free plastic surgery camp was recently inaugurated at Sancheti hospital,with advocate SK Jain presiding chief guest for the event. Around 650 patients from around Pune and other places in Maharashtra had registered for this four-day camp,with the most common corrective surgery being that of a cleft lip.
