After all these years,her million-dollar smile is intact. She sashayed down the multi-storeyed jewellery outlet with as much ease as she had swayed into the hearts of movie buffs all over the country. From gregarious roles with a comic tinge to serious dramatic forays,she has shone through in all her cinematic outings. But contrary to all her connections with the arc lights,Sonali Bendre was in the city to inaugurate the opening of Ranka Jewelers’ new outlet at Hadapsar. Her likeness dominated the landscape in the vicinity,while she dodged the mob of admirers who couldn’t get enough of her.
It feels great to be in the city,I have close family connections here, she began. People around seem to hang on to every word she said. The most obvious question was thrown at her is she in the throes of a come-back now? I don’t think of it as a comeback at all. I have always been around. Just that I am exploring a new avenue now, she clarifies. Reality TV has become the latest television monster to have raided the living rooms of couch potato India. Bendre has been closely attached to this phenomenon,having been one of the premier season judges of India’s Got Talent. I feel it’s all part of an entertainment phase. My show has been encouraging a lot of new talent and they have been reaping the benefits of international exposure, says she.
