The red glowing lamps of Kue Bar,at The Westin,Koregaon Park, were replaced by black UV lights that emulated a mystical glow on the white ensembles of the visitors who followed the dress code for the evening on Friday,September 7. The lounge transformed into a dark yet magical world with neon accessories like head gears, bangles, pendants, nail paint and tattoos and pendants worn by the guests that seemed to float around in the darkness.
Fashionistas even flaunted fluorescent stilettos as they sipped on Martinis served in glowing LED goblets. The atmosphere was just right for the event which followed,a Neon Splash Painting performed by FAD International students,Siddhant Yadav and Ankita Agarwal. As two models dressed in black ballerina costumes,a net tutu and a spaghetti top with net sleeves, took the stage,Yadav and Agarwal splashed their clothes with neon paint leaving no inch glow-less. The idea of the event was to spread an awareness about neon and to find a way to incorporate it in fashion. Siddhant is into a lot of splash painting and I am very interested in neon art work. After researching a lot and reading up on the art trend along with a few practise sessions in our studios,we decided that it is time to share our work with other art as well as fashion enthusiasts, says Agarwal, who is into creating wall art.
