Sometimes television vamp, sometimes stand-up comic, the versatile Urvashi Dholakia speaks about the need to keep reinventing oneself
All these years,Ive been treated as the underdog. My full potential has still not been realized. But it should be remembered that when the underdog makes a mark, its forever, says Urvashi Dholakia, the scheming Komolika in Kasauti Zindagi Ki,Pooja in Mehendi Tere Naam Ki and of course, the hilarious better half of the inimitable Shakeel Siddiqui in Comedy Circus. Dholakia was in town to inaugurate the Fashionista exhibition at Ishanya Mall yesterday.
So,does she plan to come back in a comic or a more conventional role in future? You tell me,which role is left for me to explore now? Ive done such diverse roles that now Im biding my time and being very selective. Ive done so much comedy, that its not in the reckoning as on date. But may be,sometime later,I could look at that again, avers Dholakia, every bit as humourous in real life as she is on the telly with Shana Shakeel.
Speaking of Shakeel, she says its great that their pairing worked so well in Comedy Circus but that now she wants to explore a different aspect of her personality. You know what,I know I can do much better in future. If I can pair up with Shakeel Siddiqui and become such a success,I can succeed with anyone and everyone else, she adds, tongue firmly in cheek.
