Guru Dutt Films Acting Academy recently announced the launch of its branch in Pune. The institute is spreaheaded by Arun Dutt,son of legendary director and actor Guru Dutt and is situated at Koregaon Park. The faculty includes Adil Amaan who heads the acting course as a chief acting coach and Mohd Rafique who teaches language,speech,diction and voice training. Guru Dutt Films has been an integral part of the film industry for over 57 years. Founded in 1954 by the legendary Director,Actor and Producer Guru Dutt. Guru Dutt Films has produced a trail of entertaining musicals with Aar Paar,Mr & Mrs 55 and CID. Guru Dutt then moved on to creating his classics in Pyaasa,Kaagaz Ke Phool,Chaudhvin Ka Chand and Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam.

Fashionable art

Fad (Fashion And Design) Gen Next designers will be showcasing their collections in couture,high spirit and power dressing fashion at the Westin,Koregaon Park on August 12.The evening will also witness art,photography and design by students from Fad International. Fad Gen Next will also honour industry professionals for the contribution in fashion,art,media and design like Alpana Kirloskar,Jayesh Sachdev,Bunty Prashant and Tushar Mehta. This event will raise the curtain to Graduate India Fashion Week which is an exclusive platform for the Gen next designers. This event will be supported by Nottingham Trent University,UK.

In the name of God

The film,Morya,which is scheduled to release on August 19,tracks aspects of the Ganpati mandals and the related frenzy around the festival. Morya is directed by the famous music director Avdhoot Gupte. It is a musical film with six tracks, says Gupte whose previous film Jhenda had been a grand success in Mahrashtra. The film has six tracks including a lavani and a qawalli sung by the Sabri Brothers of Jaipur. The film stars Santosh Juvekar,Chinmay Mandlekar,Dilip Prabhavalkar and newcomers Spraha Joshi and Meghna Eranda. Gupte and the star-cast of the film were in town for its promotion.
